Default Pets for your Hero hench

<.< >.>

Pick ranger secondary.

Find an animal.

Select Passive.

Flag the hero to the animal.

Press charm animal on his bar with the animal in range.

Voila.

on a sidenote....Anet...how do we rename the hench's pet?

important: PET DOESNT STAY. it leaves if you zone out.

Since it doesn't stay you shouldn't have much need to resurrect it since it won't be higher then level 3-5 and the slot you use on the resurrection skill is better spent elsewhere, no?

It should be obvious though, comfort animal doesn't require you to target your pet, so if you use it on the hero he should resurrect it.
